Mrs. Rooksberry spent her earlier years in the Bowesmont and Joliette, N.D., areas. She married Russell Parker on Nov. 10, 1940, in Bowesmont. After his death, she moved with her family to New Baltimore.
She retired in 1977 as a nurse's aide for St. Joseph's Hospital in Mount Clemens.
A member of Bethel Temple Church in New Baltimore, she enjoyed crossword puzzles. In her church in North Dakota, she was involved in the Women's Ministries, which supplied materials for missionaries and others needing assistance. She married Claude C. Rooksberry on Sept. 15, 1977, and resided in Warren until his retirement Dec. 1, 1978, from the Budd Co. in Detroit. The couple moved to the Anchorville area.
Mrs. Rooksberry is survived by her daughter, Carol (Lynn) White of New Baltimore; son, David (Betty) Parker of Warren; sisters, Doris Methner of Royal Oak and Frances (James) Huset of New Baltimore; brothers, Allan (Pat) Nordstrom of Bathgate, N.D., Wallace (Dorothy) Nordstrom of Cavalier, N.D., and Robert (Ann) Nordstrom of International Falls, Minn.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Russell Parker, in 1961; second husband, Claude Rooksberry, on Aug. 16, 1997; parents, Walter and Gertrude Nordstrom; and brother, Harold Nordstrom.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Bethel Temple Church, 51028 Base Street, New Baltimore, with the Rev. Philip Myers officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, New Baltimore.
Visitation is 2:30-8 p.m. Sunday at Gendernalik Funeral Home, 35259 23 Mile Road, New Baltimore. Additional visitation is 10:30-11 a.m. Monday at the church.
