Alta Lee Beckendorff was born on June 8, 1911, in Katy, Texas, to Benjamin Franklin Beckendorff and Pearl Blanche Hagerman Beckendorff. Alta Lee was the oldest living member of First United Methodist Church, in Katy, until her passing. She was also a member of the Sunshine Sunday School class. She made numerous donations to many of the church’s organizations, as well as other charities throughout her lifetime.
Alta Lee Beckendorff, 101, of Katy, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2013.
She is survived by her brother, Herbert Beckendorff; nieces and nephews, Lawrence & Pam Beckendorff, Linda & Lee Barrett, Marilyn & Earl Parker, and Gloria Smithson; her caregiver of 13 years, Lena Musni; as well as numerous other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church, in Katy, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Marlin Fenn officiating. Interment in Katy Magnolia Cemetery.
