Elizabeth M. Abbs, 99, of 111 Ray St., Fond du Lac, died July 26, 2002, at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac.
She was born a daughter of Dr. Frank E. and Rosalind T. Main Donaldson on Dec. 8, 1902, in Butte, Mont. She was a graduate of Kaukauna High School and a graduate of Lawrence College Conservatory of Music, Appleton. She married Buford V. Abbs in Kaukauna, Wis.
Elizabeth was a member of Pilgrim Church and belonged to Pilgrim United Church of Christ Women's Fellowship. She was a member of O.E.S. 140, Waupun, a past member of the United Commercial Travelers and a past member of the Lions Club Auxiliary. Elizabeth's greatest love in life was her family.
She is survived by three children, Betty Jane Balthazor, Fond du Lac, Audrey (Donald) Zoellner, Fond du Lac, and Donald B. (Alice) Abbs, Elgin, Ill.; five grandchildren, Deborah Ann (James) Pelky, West Bend, Tammy (Gary) Steier, Chilton, Donald P. (Kimberly) Abbs, La Grange, Ill., Michael (Debra) Abbs, Batavia, 111., and Steven (Carrie) Abbs, Downers Grove, Ill.; 11 great-grandchildren, Michael and Jason Fryda, Elaina Pelky, Arianna and Jacob Steier, , Elizabeth, Nicholas, Margaret and Thomas Abbs; Brandon Abbs and Meredith Abbs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buford, on Oct. 14, 1968; and a sister, Rosemary Donaldson McMillan.
Services: The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Monday, July 29, 2002, at Pilgrim United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Ted Drewsen officiating. Burial will be in Rienzi Cemetery.
