Betty Hirsch, 77, of Plantersville, died Wednesday evening April 18, 2018, surrounded by her loving family at College Station Medical Center.

A gathering of family and friends took place from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018, followed by funeral services at 10 a.m. at Lindley-Robertson-Holt Funeral Home. The Rev. James A. "Jay" Kott Jr. of Shiro Baptist Church officiated. Cremation followed.

Betty was born Saturday, Nov. 16, 1940, in Cotton, Texas, and was raised up in Iola by her parents, Kathleen Glass and Arthur G. LaSalle. At the young age of 14, she married George Fritz "T.C." Hirsch on April 16, 1955. They lived in and around Singleton and settled in Plantersville in 1974. Betty and T.C. ran a restaurant for a number of years in Plantersville, but her true love was her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting and reading.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; a son, George F. Hirsch Jr.; and grandson, Carl Wayne Norwood Jr.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, T.C. Hirsch of Plantersville; daughters, Susan Hirsch of Plantersville, Sheryl Lopez and Jeff Perry of Navasota and Kathy Norwood and husband Carl of Roans Prairie; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and brothers, Arthur Wayne LaSalle of Wisconsin and A.C. LaSalle of Madisonville.
