Abingdon - A 19-year-old Abingdon woman was killed Monday night when the car she was driving collided with a truck on Illinois Route 41 about 1 1/2 miles south of here.
Donna F. Woodruff of 421 Western Ave. was pronounced dead on arrival at Cottage Hospital in Galesburg by Knox County Cornorer Roger Hannam.
Woodruff was northbound, according to state police, when she apparently lost control of the car and began sliding sideways after hitting an icy spot.
Her car collided with a truck driven by George C. Craft, 39, of Vermont, who was southbound. He was treated at St. Marys Hospital in Galesburg.
The accident occurred about 11:30 p.m.
An Abingdon resident for 13 years, she attended schools here.
Born Sept 24, 1962, in Crystal City. Mo., she was the daughter of Leon and Easter Rawlings Woodruff.
Surviving are her father of Mulberry, Ark: her mother of Abingdon: four brothers, Gary of Tampa, Fla., Vernon of Galesburg, Danny in California and Steven of Abingdon.
Also, surviving are three sisters Linda Taylor and Breanda Jacobs of Abingdon and Shirley Atkins of VanBuren, Ark.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Larson Funeral Home, the Rev. Paul Knight officiating. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery.
Ther will no vistation.
