Actress, Artist. Her father was 1940 Heisman Trophy recipient Tom Harmon, her mother was actress Elyse Knox. Additionally, her brother Mark Harmon went on to become an accomplished actor. Born Sharon Kristin Harmon, she followed her mother's path into the entertainment industry and married actor-singer Rick Nelson prior to her eighteenth birthday in 1963. She is remembered for playing "Kris Nelson" during the final three seasons of the TV series "Ozzie and Harriet" from 1963 to 1966. Additionally, she co-starred alongside Nelson in the feature film "Love and Kisses" in 1963, which was directed by her father-in-law Ozzie Nelson. Among her other television credits include "Green Acres" and "Adam-12". She retired from acting during the mid 1970s and went on to become a successful artist. Her brightly-colored primitive oil-on-canvas sold for thousands of dollars. She wrote her 1997 autobiography "Out of My Mind", which detailed both her career as an artist, as well as her marriages and divorces to Rick Nelson and Mark Tinker. Her union with Rick Nelson produced four children. Their daughter Tracy became an accomplished actress. Their sons Gunnar and Matthew formed the music group "Nelson." She died suddenly from a heart attack.
