Alan C. Arno, 64, of Maple St., passed away Saturday (April 14, 2018) at Rochester General Hospital.

Born in Hornell, NY, September 14, 1953, he was a son of Albert and Mary Baumgarten Arno. Al honorably served his country in the US Air Force as a Staff Sergeant with a specialization in munitions systems. He was a tool maker and CNC Machinist for SKF in Hornell, and a Lathe Operator at Foster Wheeler in Dansville. For a period of time he was the owner and operator of Al’s Garage in North Hornell. He was the past Junior Governor of the Hornell Loyal Order of the Moose, past commander of Turner-Schrader American Legion Post 34 in Shortsville NY, past commander of Sons of the American Legion Squadron 34 in Shortsville NY, past commander of the Sons of the American Legion, Ontario County and currently a member of the American Legion Post 846, Canisteo NY. Al cultivated many long-standing friendships. He was an avid NASCAR and Buffalo Bills Fan.

He was predeceased by his parents; Albert and Mary Arno, and Brother; Ron Arno.

He is survived by his loving wife of 5 and 18 years; Gail Keough Arno of Canisteo, Children; Lori (Jeff) Pellicano of Hemlock, Aimee Sciotti of Hornell, Kari (Aaron) Schwartz of Arkport, Brett Arno of Hornell, and Craig Arno of New Orleans, LA, grandchildren; Mitchell, Jonathan, Carter and Alexys Pellicano, Jaden and Jonas Sciotti, Talan and Presley Schwartz, his siblings; Don (Margaret) Paul of Broken Arrow, OK, Sandy Gardiner of Aurora, CO, Sharon (Roy) Bossard of Milford, KS, Bonnie Arno of Hornell, Dan Arno of Hornell, Ken (Sue) Arno of Yorktown, VA, Keith (Sue) Arno of Brockport, and Karen (Jim) Burritt of Hornell, as well as many nephews, nieces and cousins.
