Mary Frances Smith, 89, of Midland, died Saturday, April 4, 2009. She was the youngest child of W. Frank Crabtree and Jesse Cornwell Crabtree. She was born in Burkburnett and raised in Daisetta, Texas. Mary Frances attended the University of Houston and married Darrell Smith while both were employees of the Texas Company. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, and her son Kenton Lloyd Smith. Mary Frances is survived by her daughter, Mary Beth Lampe and husband Donald of Ft. Worth, Texas; son, Darrell Frank Smith and wife Janet of Fair Oaks Ranch; grandchildren, Dinah Shelly, Darrell Smith and Frances Downing of San Antonio, Texas, Ross Lampe of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Elizabeth Lampe of Dallas, Texas and eight great-grandchildren. A memorial service in honor of Mary Frances will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Manor Park Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Hospice Midland, P.O. Box 2621, Midland, Texas 79702. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
