Roger D. Wiegert

Mishicot - Roger D. Wiegert, age 72, a Mishicot resident, died Sunday morning, April 29, 2018 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.

He was born on November 1, 1945 at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, son of the late Hugo and Emily (Kramer) Wiegert. Roger was a graduate of Washington High School, Two Rivers, Class of 1964. He served in the United States Army from 1966 until 1969 in Vietnam in the 9th Infantry. On February 16, 1966 he married the former Mary L. Brull in Manitowoc. Roger was employed as a crane assembler at Manitowoc Engineering, retiring after 25 years of employment. He enjoyed helping family and friends, spending time with his grandchildren, cracking jokes, and playing the lottery. Roger was an avid animal lover and enjoyed fishing and doing yard work.

Survivors include his wife: Mary L. Wiegert; one daughter: Sally (Nibby Doolan) Wiegert; one son: Kevin (Karri Kieffer) Wiegert; three grandchildren: Holly Doolan, Kaitlyn Wiegert, Kory Wiegert; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Hugo Jr. & Jeanne Wiegert, Arnold & Stacie Wiegert; one sister: JoAnn Markham; one sister-in-law: Irene Heili; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Gene & Jonnie Brull; and close friends: Donald (Donnie) & Carol Jaeger and John & Gail Schanilec. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Peter & Rose Brull; an infant brother: Richard Wiegert; and two brothers-in-law: John Markham and Bernard Heili.

Cremation has occurred at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2018 at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Service will be Pastor Kim Henning with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Graveside Military Rites will be accorded by Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #731.

The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 9:00 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2018 until 10:45 a.m.
