William E. "Gene" Penrod, 87, passed away on May 3, 2018 in Wichita Falls. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 7th 2018 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 6th 2018 at Hampton Vaughan.
Gene was born in Wichita Falls, TX on December 31st, 1930 to Homer and Myrtle Howell Penrod. He married the love of his life, Barbara Jeanette Cox in Wichita Falls, Texas on December 10th, 1955.
Gene was a member of the Faith Masonic Lodge 1158, Scottish Rite, and the Maskat Shrine where he was an active member for over 50 years.
Gene was an entrepreneur owning several business including Wichita Business Systems, Wichita Vending, and most recently Double P Auto Sales. He was the originator of several night clubs including Sam's Club, The Fox Fire, and The Wildcatter.
He is survived by his daughter Susan White and husband Eddie of Wichita Falls, son Michael and fiancé Vanessa of Melbourne, Australia, granddaughters Missy Wise, Blaire Robinson and husband Tyler and great-grandchildren Carsyn Wise, Landry Robinson, and Blakely Robinson all of Wichita Falls, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 51 years, Barbara, his brothers Marvin and Elton Penrod, and his sister Pauline Griffis.
Gene's greatest accomplishment in life was his undying love and devotion to his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him well. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.hamptonvaughan.com
