Evelyn (Atwood) Kimball and Bruce Ekker were married 2 Apr 1951 in Brunswick, Maine.

Evelyn P. Ekker, 82, passed away October 14, 2004 at Carson Tahoe Hospital in Carson City, NV, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. She was born in Pejebscot, Maine, April 3, 1921 to Frank B. and Blanche Williams Atwood.

She was loved by all who knew her and affectionately called "Nana" to all the children she loved. She had a beautiful flower garden and was a fabulous cook.

Preceding her in death are her parents, one sister, Earlene Mears and son-in-law, Stanley L. Ritter.Surviving Evelyn are her husband Bruce Ekker of Reno; daughter Pug Ritter of Reno; grandson Stanley Ritter; granddaughter Lisa E. Pilling and 3 great-grandsons Christopher, Shane and Brett Ritter, all of Reno. She is also survived by her sisters, Eunice King and Marguerite Smith of Harpswell, Maine.Memorial Services will be held on Friday, October 22, 2004 at the Mountain View Circle Committal Room, 435 Stoker Avenue, Reno. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Northern Nevada, 705 S. Wells, Reno, NV 89502. Arrangements are under the direction of Walton Funeral Home in Reno.

Cremated in Nevada and ashes were taken by a family member and then buried in Nevada, but not the same cemetery as her husband.
