Joanne Dobrenski, age 76, of Marshall, Minnesota, died on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall, Minnesota. Funeral Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2018 at First Lutheran Church in Marshall, Minnesota. Interment will be in the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Island Lake Township. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Monday from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Joanne Kay Stelter was born on March 9, 1942 in Marshall, Minnesota to Adolph and Lillian (Melby) Stelter. Joanne was baptized and confirmed at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Island Lake Township. She grew up in rural Lynd, Minnesota, graduating from Lynd High School in 1960

Joanne was united in marriage to Ronald Lee "Ron" Dobrenski on May 20, 1961 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was a loving homemaker while raising her 5 children and then later went on to work at Schott's in Marshall until her retirement. Joanne's enjoyments in life included gardening, singing, playing guitar, and being outside.

Joanne was kind hearted, selfless and even strangers thought she was very sweet. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Joanne was called home to heaven on May 3, 2018, in Marshall, Minnesota, at the age of 76 years, 1 month, and 24 days. Blessed be her memory.

Joanne is survived by her husband Ron of Minneota; 5 children, David Dobrenski of Marshall, Laurie Hoshino (Paul) of Maple Grove, Julie Michelson (Steve) of Cottonwood, Rick Dobrenski (Michelle) of Franklin, Wisconsin, Al Dobrenski (Sonia) of Ruthton; grandchildren, Alex, Ellie, Sam and Henry Hoshino, Jamie and Kayla Placsencia, Mike, Kainan, and Wyatt Dobrenski; great grandchildren, Owen Kaas, Christian and Dominic Placsencia; sisters, Marilyn Kor, Carol (Gary) Sorenson; and in-laws, Bonnie Larson and Dolly Dobrenski.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Skip Stelter; sister-in-law, Judy Stelter; brothers-in-law, Jack Dobrenski and Joe Kor.
