Wife of Levi Coffin. Catharine was the daughter of Stanton and Sarah (Stanley) White. She married 28 10 mo 1824 at Hopewell Friends Meeting in Guilford Co., NC, Levi Coffin. They were the parents of six children: Jesse S., Addison, Thomas F., Henry Way, Anna Unthank, and Sarah Emeline. She played an active role in her husband's underground railroad activities and was known as "Aunt Katie." She died at the age of 77 from pneumonia. Prior to her interment at Spring Grove on Jan 31, 1898 she was interred at "Friends Lot" in West Cumminsville.
