"Kenneth W. Behringer. Meridian - Kenneth W. Behringer of Meridian,
a U.S. Post Office retiree, died Wednesday in a Clifton hospital. He
was 57.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Meridian Church of Christ,
Gary Phillips and Carlton Lemmons officiating. Burial will be in the
Oak Grove Cemetery in Walnut Springs, with the Iredell Veterans of
Foreign Wars in charge of military graveside services.
Mr. Behringer was born Dec. 5, 1937, in Meridian. He moved to
Iredell in 1953 and finished school there in 1956. He enlisted in the
Army and served until 1967. He married Rebecca Yalung in 1962 in the
Philippines. Mr. Behringer worked for the U.S. Post Office in Fort
Worth, retiring in 1992. he lived in Mansfield for several years before
moving to Meridian in 1985. He was a member of the Meridian Church of
Christ, the Iredell VFW, Bosque County Historical Society, Bosque County
Child Protective Services, Sons of the Confederacy, Sons of the American
Revolution and the Hamilton Genealogy Society, as well as many other
genealogy organizations.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Earl Russell Behringer of
Arlington, Robert Francis Behringer and Bennett Bryan Behringer, both of
Meridian; his mother, Gussie Behringer of Meridian; and one sister,
Earlene Adams of Clifton.
Lawson Funeral Home in Meridian is in charge of arrangements."
