M. Irene Andersen, age 81, formerly of Council Bluffs, passed away May 3, 2018, at Heritage Ridge, in Bellevue, Neb.

Irene was born December 11, 1936. She was united in marriage to Cordell M. Andersen, and together they raised their family in Council Bluffs until his passing in 2010.

Irene is also preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Alice Hancock; husband, Cordell; daughter, Kathy (Warren) Kendrick; brother, Charles; and sister, Margie.

Irene is survived by daughters, Kris (Mark) Henry, of Sioux Falls, S.D., Debby (Tim) Peoples, of Papillion, Neb.; grandchildren, Tim (Misty) Peoples, Michelle Dailey, Wesley (Sasha) Kendrick, Jennifer Henry and Ken (Jenny) Peoples; 12 great-grandchildren; four siblings, Cynthia, Glenn, Joan and Allan; sister-in-law, Nancy Freeman; nieces and nephews.

Visitation, Sunday, 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral service, Monday, 11 a.m., all at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Interment, Garner Township Cemetery, with a luncheon to follow at the Walnut Hill Reception Center. Family will direct memorials.
