Asher' s WW I draft registration record described hum as Tall and Slender with Gray eyes and brown hair. His serial number was 2762. He is last found in the April 1930 and 1940 Fed census as a lodger in Princeton Borough, Mercer County, New Jersey. He was 35/46, single and an English Teacher at Princeton University. There is a library room named after him.

His 1923 passport application notes he served in France and England with the U. S. army, A. E. F. from 07 August 1917 to 15 December 1918 and that he was residing at Princeton Univ. in1923. It described him as 28 ad 5' 11" with Blue eyes, Brown hair, narrow forehead, Oval chin, Long nose and Medium mouth and complexion.

I Wrote to priceton Univ. and got the following response: "Dear Mr. Finnick,

Thank you for your message. Yes, Asher Hinds was on the English Department faculty at Princeton. An in-house library and several prizes are named in his honor. Mudd Library holds the university archives
