Clifton Angel, Jr., 71, of West Helena passed away from this life on September 21, 2012 in Little Rock, AR at UAMS.
Cliff was born in West Helena to the late Clifton and Alice Angel. He was the seventh child of eleven.
Cliff graduated from Eliza Miller High School in 1959. He had a desire to see the world so he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served sixteen years.

He traveled to places such as Greece and Taiwan. Cliff retired from the U.S. Air Force and enlisted in the United States Navy shortly thereafter. He spent quite a bit of time in Maryland and California while in the U.S. Navy. Cliff lived in California some time after he retired from the U.S. Navy. Cliff was a firm believer in education and he attended college at the University of Maryland, Long Beach Community College, and Phillips Community College.
Cliff worked for the West Helena Police Department as a policeman for a short time upon returning home to West Helena. He later went on to work for the city of Lakeview, AR as Town Marshal. Cliff also worked for the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier. He was later promoted to Post Master. Cliff served as Post Master for Tucker, AR and Haynes, AR. Cliff retired from both The United States Postal Service and the city of Lakeview in 2003; but he did not slow down.

He was always on the move helping others.

He was an active member of the Allen Temple A.M.E. Church where he served on the Steward Board as well as the Trustee Board. Cliff also served as President of the Mid-Delta Head Start Parent Association for years. He was a member of the Helena-West Helena Civil Service Commission until his health failed.

Cliff is preceded in death by his parents Clifton Sr. and Alice Angel; siblings James Ira, Fredothie, Mildred, Bobbie Jean, and Edward.

Cliff leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Christine “Tina” Angel; two daughters, Donna Brown of West Memphis, AR and Victoria (LeRoy) Parker of West Helena, AR; five sons, Don (Etsuko) Angel of Montclair, CA, Calvin Renard Angel of Monterey, CA, Courtney (Anterica) Baylark of West Helena, John Angel of Chicago, IL. and Brandon Angel of West Helena, AR; Sixteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Hoffman and Hazel Lee both of Chicago, IL; three brothers, Charles (Bertha) Angel of Windsor, NC., Paul Angel of Chicago, IL, and William (Sarah) Angel of West Helena,AR; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
