Isabelle (Issy) Rose Chevalier, 100, of Johnston, Iowa died at Bishop Drumm Care Center, Johnston, IA on August 19, 2010. A funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Peace Chapel at Bishop Drumm on Tuesday, August 24 at 9:30 a.m. with visitation beginning at 8:30 a.m. Interment will take place immediately following at Corpus Christi Cemetery in Fort Dodge, IA.

Isabelle was born March 20, 1910 to Miles Henry and Rose Elliott in Cresco, IA where the family farmed. Issy married Leon Chevalier (known as Chevy), a captain in the Iowa Highway Patrol on November 4, 1952 at St. Ambrose Cathedral in Des Moines. She was the manager of Sherwood Interiors gift boutique in Windsor Heights for many years, retiring in 1974. She had previously worked for Allis Chalmers. Issy and Chevy moved to Sun City, AZ in 1974 and moved back to Des Moines in 1996. Throughout their retirement they enjoyed traveling around the world and dancing.

Isabelle is survived by her nieces and nephews and has been lovingly cared for since Chevy's death in 1997 by the Tom and Helen Biller family of Urbandale. She was also preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and two sisters.
