Master Sergeant Retired David Charles Maples, 73 of Louisville, passed away May 9, 2018 after a long battle with cancer.

He was a kidney transplant recipient of 19 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Millard Maples and mother, Beatrice Reagan, father and mother-in-law, Cara and Sarah Potter, and brothers, Gilbert and Mickey Maples and Larry Reagan.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Ruth Potter Maples; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. James Maples and Laura Bost, son and daughter-in-law, David and Tina Maples, and daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Dexter Lowe; grandchildren, Josie Maples, Zachary and wife Drew Lowe, and William and wife Savanah Wortham; great grandchild, Lillie Wortham; sister, Elizabeth Potter; brothers, Cliff and Bill Reagan, Paul, Mike, and Mark Maples; special sister-in-law, Barbara and husband George Burgess, and Georgie Sluder; brother-in-law, Lee and wife Glenys Potter, and Wanda Potter.

Funeral services will be held 7:00 P.M. Friday May 11, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home: 1102 Big Springs Rd. with Rev. Jim Malone officiating. Family and friends will all meet 10:00 A.M. Saturday May 12, 2018 at Zion Chapel Cemetery for a graveside services with military honors. The family will receive friends 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
