Henry G. Knoener, age 90, a resident of Ada, died peacefully Wednesday morning, May 9, 2018 surrounded by his family at Sheboygan Senior Community.

Henry was born on September 14, 1927 in the town of Herman to the late George and Marie (Rudolph) Knoener. In April 1955 he married Esther Franz at St. John’s UCC “Schwarzwald.” She preceded him in death in 1982. In May of 1984 he married Barbara (Arpke) Newberry at St. John’s UCC “Schwarzwald.” Henry enjoyed farming, until his retirement in 1998. He was a member of Bethel UCC. Henry enjoyed making wood and recycling scrap metal.

He is survived by his wife Barb, three children: Nancy Traas, Alan (Sharon) Knoener, and Barbara (Carl) Tenpas; one step-son: Philip (Judy) Newberry; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Henry is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Esther, brother and sister: Arno (Viola) Knoener and Erna (Herb) Johanning.

Funeral Services for Henry will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, (815 6th Street, Kiel) with Rev. Dr. James Klein officiating. Burial will take place at St. John’s “Schwarzwald” Cemetery.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am on Saturday.

A memorial fund will be established in Henry’s name at St. Nicholas Hospice and Bethel UCC.
