Born December 4th, 1933 in Omaha Nebraska to Theodore and Deloris Rozak. After graduation from high school she met and married H.D. Allen on July 11, 1956 in Sesser, IL. In 1965 they started DuQuoin Beauty College in DuQuoin, IL then expanded their business to include Trend Beauty Colleges in Collinsville, East Alton, Mt. Vernon, and Marion, IL.,as well as Florissant, MO. Bonita retired after forty six years in 2007. She moved from DuQuoin to St. Louis fifteen years ago. She attended St. Andrews Methodist Church. During her working life, Bonita served as an examiner for the National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology and Arts Science, a member of the National Cosmetology Association, and was a former president for the Illinois Association of Cosmetology Schools.
Mrs. Allen is survived by her husband, H.D. Allen, her three children, Lynn Allen, Mrs. Tim (Jamie) Specht, and Patrick Allen. She is also a grandmother to Summer Halstead, Blake & wife, Andrea Halstead, Timothy, Nicole and Samantha Specht, and Bryce Allen.
