Angelus "Andy" Brooks, age 95, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Andy was born on January 12, 1923 in Chicago, IL to the late Charles and Katherine Brooks. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School. Andy enlisted in the Unites States Army and served his country until his honorable discharge in 1946. He met his beloved wife, Bronwen Brooks, while serving in World War II in England. The were united in marriage on March 2, 1946 at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Rock Ferry, England. Bronwen preceded him in death on August 10, 2016. For many years, Andy worked as a carpenter for Hamann Construction. He was also a volunteer firefighter for Silver Creek Fire Department for over 50 years. Andy was a member of Wisconsin Whitetails and enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish.

Survivors include Andy's three children, Cathy (Paul) Peters, Manitowoc; Pamela (Joseph) Pyzyk, Brookfield; and Paul Brooks, Two Rivers; four grandchildren, Andrew (Sarah) Pyzyk, Michael Pyzyk, Nathan (Michelle) Brooks, and Laura (Steve) nee Brooks Kratz; five great grandchildren, Logan, Ethan, and Landon Brooks, Mason Kratz, and Margaret Pyzyk; special friends: Caroline and Allen Kaderbek; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Andy was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Bronwen; and four brothers, Peter, James, William, and Nicholas Brooks.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 18, 2018 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand - 1416 Grand Avenue, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated by Rev. Dave Pleier and Rev. Kenneth Knippel with entombment to follow at Calvary Mausoleum. Military rites will be accorded by VFW Otto Oas Post 659. A luncheon will then be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. A prayer service will be led by Deacon Aaron Laskiewicz at 6 p.m. The visitation will continue on Friday at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10 a.m. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials in Andy's name to either the Silver Creek Volunteer Fire Department or the Manitowoc Humane Society.
