From Bates County Democrat - "Truck Accident Fatal to W. F. Daniel - Walter F. Daniel, 37, of Butler, passed away Sunday afternoon, December 3rd, at the Butler Memorial Hospital as a result of injuries sustained Saturday evening in a truck accident about two miles north of Butler. The accident occurred when the pickup truck he was driving left U.S. highway No. 71 and rolled over in the ditch. He suffered a skull fracture. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Daniel, Butler, a daughter, La Donna Sue Daniel of Illinois; three sisters, Mrs. Pansey Stoner and Sue Burnett, Butler; Mary Wilson of Rich Hill; and one brother, Roy Daniel of Butler. Mr. Daniel was a veteran of World War II. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday afternoon, December 5, at 3:00 at the Culver-Underwood Chapel. American Legion services will be held at the grave in Oak Hill cemetery."
