Born in Saegertown July 30, 1911, she was a daughter of Arthur Orner and Capitola Dawler Orner Boyle. She married Charles (Chuck) Strayer
December 15, 1934; he preceded her in death June 9, 1983.
She retired from Morco Inc. in Cochranton after more than 40 years.
She was also a member of Cochranton Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.
Survivors include a niece, Gloria Peterson and her husband, Allen, of Saegertown, with whom she resided the last three years; a sister-in-law, Charlotte O'Loughlin of Houston, Texas; two great-nieces; two great-nephews; several great-great-nieces and nephews; and a great-great-great-niece.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Strayer; two grandchildren, Vicki and Michael Strayer; and two sisters, Winarta Urquhart and Blanche Brucker.
Calling hours are today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Dickson Funeral Home, 123 S.
Franklin St., Cochranton.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Russell Hines of Cochranton United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will be in Cochranton Cemetery.
The family requests memorials be made to Cochranton United Methodist Church.

On December 22, 1974 Violet's only child Robert, daughter-in-law Linda, 3 year granddaughter Vicki, and 6 month old grandson Michael returned to their Heavenly Home as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning. Separated on this Earth for a short time, now a family together in Heaven for all eternity.
