JOHN LEE McCRORY

John Lee McCrory, retired plantation owner of Marked Tree Ark., died yesterday morning at 9:40 o'clock at his residence in Memphis after an illness of three years. He was 58.

Mr. McCrory was suffering from a heart ailment which forced his retirement. He moved to Memphis from Marked Tree two years ago.

A native of Newton, Miss., Mr. McCrory moved to Arkansas as a young man. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Lillie McCrory; a son, Glenn McCrory; two daughters, Miss Thelma and Miss Julanne McCrory, all of Memphis; five sisters, Mrs. C. R. Brown of Meridian; Miss Delia McCrory of New Orleans; Mrs. James Wedgeworth of Pattison; Mrs. Ernest Mason of Newton; and Miss Annie McCrory of Memphis, and a brother, Floyd McCrory of Newton.

The body arrived here on the afternoon train today. It will lie in state at Webb Funeral Home until ten o'clock Friday morning, when the funeral will be held in Newton Methodist Church and the body interred in the Masonic Cemetery. The Rev. M. K. Miller, local pastor, will be in charge of the funeral.
