She was born April 30, 1946 in Forsyth County to the late Lawrence Holton Creech and Lillian Dull Creech.
Rebecca was known for how much she loved and cared for her grand-babies.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Davis; her daughter, Bytina Marlene Shumate; her brother Lawrence Holton Creech; her first husband and the father of her children, Clayton Shumate; and her brother-in-law, Bobby Lee Williams.
Rebecca is survived by her son, James Shumate; six grandchildren: Jacob, Luke, Noah and Shumate, Matthew Cook, and Hannah Dunn; her sister, Bobbie Williams; and her nephew Lee Williams (Teresa).
A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Monday, May 21, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel. Burial will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, May 20, 2018 at the funeral home.
