Son to Wm Miller Bledsoe II and Betsy Trosper. Willis formed his own cavalry unit in the war and eventually attained the rank of Major. He was associated with Henry Sublett, Galen Elliott and Champ Ferguson. Moving to Texas following the war he practiced law in Alvarado and Cleburne. He was an active Mason.
