Funeral services for Mrs. Cedar Bee Fontenot will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at St. Peters Catholic Church, Pine Prairie with Father Kenneth Mayne officiating. Interment will follow in Beaver Creek Cemetery in Beaver Creek Community, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pine Prairie.


Mrs. Fontenot, 86, of Pine Prairie, entered eternal rest on Monday, May 21, 2018 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Ville Platte, LA.



She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church and was retired from Prairie Manor Nursing Home. She enjoyed various hobbies like crocheting, sewing, painting and gardening. She was a dedicated volunteer to the Bluebird Group and the St. Peters Thrift Store. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her.



She was preceded in death by her parents, Millard and Olive Ardoin; her loving husband of over fifty years, Russell Fontenot; one brother, J.V. Ardoin; three sisters, Murdis Bergeron, Murvin Fuselier and Neatrice Olehafen; one grandson, Dennis Millard “Mill” Fontenot, Jr. and one son-in-law, Sid Fontenot.



Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include her three sons, Dennis Fontenot, Sr. and his wife, Judy, of Bayou Vista, Patrick Fontenot and his wife, Margaret, of Pine Prairie and David Fontenot and his wife, Debbie, of Flowery Branch, GA.; two daughters, Angela Johnson and her husband, Lance, of Pine Prairie and Tammy Fontenot, of Pine Prairie; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-three great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.



Friends may call Rush Funeral Home, Pine Prairie on Friday, May 25, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. until time of departure for the church.
