Manitowoc - Shirley M. Schuette, age 92, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center.
Shirley was born on February 28, 1926 in Manitowoc to the late Richard and Irma Weber Fricke. She graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1944. Shirley married Charles Kollath in Manitowoc. Charles preceded her in death on May 29, 1974. Shirley later remarried to August Schuette. August preceded her in death on November 23, 2010. Shirley enjoyed sewing and being a homemaker for her family. She enjoyed going to her cottage at Clark Lake. She was an active member of First Lutheran Church in Manitowoc, and used her musical talents in the church's choir. Shirley played the piano for many groups. She was the secretary for the Community Concert series and a member of the Monday Music Club. Above all, Shirley enjoyed the time she was able to spend with her family - especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include six children, David Kollath, Kenosha; Cathy (Peter) Burback, Manitowoc; Anne (Dan) Schuette, Manitowoc; Barb (Rasti) Farhad, Fox Point; Sarah (William) Langhout, Woodbury, MN; and James Schuette, New York City; 10 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brother, Richard Fricke, San Antonio, TX; also other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Blessed Angela Chapel at St. Mary's Home at Felician Village, 1635 South 21st Street, Manitowoc. Rev. Dr. Matthew Sauer will officiate with burial to take place at Evergreen Cemetery at a later date. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel.
