Minden, LA - Elizabeth Reeves Brewer, 93, went to be with the Lord she dearly loved, Tuesday , August 19, 2014. Services to celebrate her life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, August 23, 2014, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana with Rev. Gary Faircloth and Chaplain Keith Adcock officiating. Visitation with family will be held Friday evening, August 22, 2014, from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Elizabeth was born on February 8, 1921, to Marion Alma and Grace Hilman Reeves in Doyline, Louisiana. She was a long-time resident of Minden, and a member of Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church in Doyline. Over the course of a 47-year career with the Webster Parish School Board, Elizabeth served as secretary to eight Webster Parish School superintendents, and assisted in establishing the Adult Education program for the parish. To Elizabeth, Webster Parish School Board employees were her second family. She delighted in her relationships with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family, friends, and co-workers.

Quite a reunion is taking place in heaven, as Elizabeth joins her husband, John W. Brewer, her parents, M.A. and Grace Reeves, brothers Aswell Reeves, Russell Reeves, Charlie Reeves, sister Carmen Reeves Laughman, and countless friends.

Elizabeth leaves her children Sandra Terry (Bob), Mike Brewer (Cindy) and Brenda Brewer (David); grandchildren Wendy Terry Rickert (Jeff), Mike Terry, Misty Brewer Powell (Brent), John Brewer (Jennifer), Shawn Brewer, Tiah Brewer Frazier, Shelly Brewer Hardin, Sherry Brewer McCarty, and 18 great grandchildren; a sister Mary “Toy” Reeves Harper; a brother M.A. “Bubba” Reeves, Jr., (Alice Lee); brother-in-law Leland Brewer and sisters-in-law Sue Reeves, Ruth Townsend and Helen Brewer.

A very special thank you goes to caregiver and friend, Linda Baker. The family also extends their appreciation to Robyn Watkins, Debbie Purvis, and Chaplain Adcock of Christus Schumpert Hospice.

Pallbearers will be John Brewer, Beau Brewer, Cy Powell, Randy Campbell, Brent Powell, Jeff Rickert, and Matt Rickert.

Honorary pallbearers include Butch Williams, Reggie Rowell , Mike Terry, and Karl Washington.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church, 211 Pilgrims Rest Road, Doyline, Louisiana 71023; Christus Schumpert Hospice; or charity of choice.
