The son of Jeremiah and Mary Ann (Leach) Cravens. He married Angeline Powell on November 22, 1867. They had eight children: William Walker, Mary Etter, Lou Ella, Junius M., Ulysses "Liss", Amanda B., Maud L. and Timoleon "Tim" Cravens. William Walker, Mary Etter and Ulysses are buried here as well.

Mr. Sylvester Cravens, an old gentleman who lived in the Clear Spring country, died Tuesday, the 21st of February. He was a Federal soldier in the war between the States and had been in declining health for more than a year.
