Terry Lee Shaw, age 68, passed away Friday, May 25, 2018.
He joined the Illinois State Police February 14, 1983 as a trooper, graduating with Academy Class 68. He was assigned to District 9, Springfield. Terry retired at the rank of sergeant December 31, 2002.

Terry Lee Shaw, age 68, of Aurora, Illinois passed away Friday, May 25, 2018.
He was born on September 16, 1949 in Rochelle, Illinois.
Terry served his country in Vietnam as a member of the United States Army, earning the National Defense Service Medal and the Medal of Good Conduct.
After being Honorably Discharged from the United States Army, Terry went on to follow in his father’s footsteps as a DeKalb County Deputy Sheriff. Terry’s father Melvin Shaw had previously served as the Sheriff.
Terry continued his public service career by joining the Illinois State Police in 1983. Upon graduation Terry was assigned to District 9, patrol. Terry was a highly decorated Sergeant before retiring in 2002.
Terry is survived by his loving daughter, Cassandra Shaw; grandchildren, Gabriel Florez and Cataleya Monarrez; sister, Debbie (Logan) Motley; brother, Steve “Gator Shaw” (Missy) Shaw; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Claribelle (nee Meserole) Shaw.

Committal: June 1, 2018 Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.
