Mrs. Mellie Mertz of Del Rio, Texas passed away Sunday morning, May 2 in a hospital at San Antonio, Texas at the age of 62. She was born Aug 2, 1896 at Clifty, the daughter of Zan Foster and Chloe Harper Foster. She had been a member of the First Baptist Church for a number of years and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Mertz of the home in Del Rio, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Ethel Roberts of South Gate, Calif.; two uncles, Barney Harper of Route 3, Huntsville and Jim Harper of Lake Orion, Mich.; an aunt, Mary Ratliff of Fort Scott, Kans., and other relatives.
Funeral services and burial were in Texas.
