Richard E. 'Dick' Brown, 69, of Partridge, died Wednesday, May 23, 2018.

He was born June 11, 1948, in Webb City, Missouri, to Robert Dale and Blanche Louise Ervin Brown.

Dick graduated from Cherokee County Rural High School in Columbus, Kansas, in 1966. He was second in the state for high school wresting. Dick attended Dodge City Junior College, Emporia State University, and Kansas State University, where he played football. He was also named an All-American while playing football for Dodge City Junior College. Dick owned Pro-Fab for 20 years.

On March 12, 2001, he married Patricia Roach in Hutchinson. They were together 23 years before marrying, for a total of 40 years together.

Dick is survived by: wife, Patricia of Partridge; son, Jade Brown (Heather); granddaughter, Alexandria Brown; grandson, Milo Jordan Brown, all of Lawrence; stepdaughter, Keena Burnet (Tim) of Manchester, Oklahoma; brother, Bob Brown (Linda) of Hutchinson; sisters, Peg Buchanan (Gary) of Eudora, Barbara Kirk of Fort Scott, Anita Robison (Steve) of Columbus; close friend, Phil Hornbeck; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place. Per his wishes, there will be no service. Memorials are suggested to the Hutchinson Animal Shelter or Blackjack Cemetery in Asbury, Missouri, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
