A native of Wilmington, he attended Wilmington High School. He was a member of First and Central Presbyterian Church, and had been a member of its Men's Bible Class.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a son, Chief Warrant Officer William S Russell of the 805th Medical Station Hospital, Fort Chaffee, Arkansas, recalled from the active reserve, a student of Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania; a daughter, Miss Betty A Russell, a secretary with Hercules Powder Co and a dancing and swimming instructor; his mother, Mrs Annie E Russell, Wilmington; a brother, Carl Russell, Silview; and a sister, Mrs Ruth Smith, Seaford, Delaware.
Friends may call at the McCrery Funeral Home, 2700 Washington Street, Friday evening after 7. Services and entombment will be private on Saturday.
