David W. Bowman, 83, a resident of Wassaic for 65 years, died Saturday, October 23, in Sharon Hospital. He was a retired rural mail carrier. He was born in the Town of Stanford on March 24, 1888, the son of Walter, and Jennie Bowman Duncan. Mr. Bowman was a charter member of the Wassaic Fire Company and a life member of the Masonic Lodge No. 672, Amenia. He was also a member of the Poughkeepsie Elk's Club and the Lafayette Post of the American Legion. He married the former Jessie Dean in 1922. She survives along with several cousins. Funeral services were held at the Hufcut Funeral Home, Dover Plains, on Tuesday, October 26. The Rev. Robert E. Wanstall, pastor of the Wassaic Presbyterian Church officiated. Burial was in Nine Partners Burial Ground, Millbrook.
