Richard C. Fritz
Richard C. Fritz, 73, of 604 S. Bridge, resident of Victoria since 1928, died at 5:45 a.m. Thursday at his residence, following a long illness.
Mr. Fritz was the retired owner of Fritz Cash Grocery. He was the past president of the St. Joseph's Fathers' Club, and a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
He was born Oct. 27, 1900, in Yoakum, and resided in Hallettsville before moving to Victoria.
He was the son of the late Robert and Theresa Geartner Fritz.
Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday at McCabe-Carruth Funeral Home Chapel, by his son, the Rev. Louis Fritz.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with a Concelebrated Mass by Archbishop Francis Furey and other priests.
Burial will be at 12:15 p.m. in Koerth Cemetery near Hallettsville, with McCabe-Carruth Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The body will lie in state at the church from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
Survivors include his wife Mrs. Mary Fritz, a daughter, Sister Felicitas Fritz, both of Victoria; three sons, Richard Fritz of Houston, the Rev. Louis Fritz of San Antonio, and Albert Fritz of San Bruno, California, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Schubert and Mrs. Emelia Lell, both of Hallettsville, a brother, Adolph Fritz of Fresno, Texas, and granddaughters.
