When she was 10, they lived in Elma, Iowa, and in 1909 when she was 19, she married Gifford Bernt Aarvig. In April, 1910, their son Bernt S. Aarvig was born in Braddock, North Dakota. They had two more children, Viola M. and Ronald Henry.
By 1940, they lived in southern California. She passed away at the age of 67 in February 1958 in Orange County.
