"Former Supreme Court Justice Henry V. Borst, one of Amsterdam's most prominent citizens, and an outstanding figure in judicial circles in this part of the state, died unexpectedly Thursday afternoon following a heart attack which occurred within a few moments after Judge Borst had finished a speech at a dinner in Albany ... The funeral of Justice Borst will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at his home, 62 Church street, and at 2:30 at the First Methodist church, of which he was a member. The Rev. Dr. H. H. Murdock, former pastor will officiate, assisted by the present pastor, the Rev. Dr. John A. Hamilton. Interment will be in Fair View cemetery ... Justice Borst was born at Cobleskill, July 4, 1857 the son of Isaac and Susan Vrooman Borst. When 15 years of age he entered Cornell university, after two years of preparatory study entered the Albany Law school from which he was graduated ..."
