"Word was received yesterday in Spartansburg of the death of Herbert J McCracken on June 7 in Watsonville, Calif. A native of central Pennsylvania, he had lived in Cleveland,, O, following his marriage to the former Nellie Day of Spartansburg. Besides his wife, he is survived by a foster-son, Max Kerr, both of whom will arrive in Spartansburg for the funeral. Services will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, June 17, at the Torrey and Hays funeral home with Rev S James Schmittle of the Spartansburg Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery."
