Peter remarried in March 1874 in Lyon County, Iowa to Narcisa E. Purdy Cook and they had one son, Elwood Varco Blue on 31 Mar 1875. This marriage ended in divorce about 1879. Narcissa sued Peter for divorce in 1876 saying he could not be found in the county.
For the 1880 Federal Census for Lyon, Lyon Co., Iowa, Peter S. in 57 years old and divorced, living with son William, daughters Arzinah (Crossman), Arvetta (Brandt), sons Grant, Clarence and Wellington.
On 28 Aug 1881 Peter S. marries Lucinda R. Clinton in Valey Springs, Minnehaha Co., SD.
In 1885, the Iowa State Census sites Peter Blue 61 born OH, divorced, living in Sioux, Lyon County, Iowa.
Peter died in South Dakota after he had travelled there to go into business with his son-in-law Harland P. Crossman who had married his daughter Arzinah about 1883.
Obituary from the "Elkton Record" references that Peter came into area from Larchwood, Iowa May 1885. (Larchwood is where his son James Madison was living.) Funeral services conducted at his son-in-law H. P. Crossman's residence. Remains “buried in the village cemetery.” A reference from “The Estelline Bell” Estelline Dakota Territory referenced the Elkton Record that “P.S. died there” on July 28th. He was father of Mrs. H Page who was “quite well known here, and also of P.B. Blue who will be remembered by those living in Estelline two years ago. At the time of his death he was in partnership in business with Mr. Page of Elkton.”
The Mrs. H. Page is an erroneous reference to Mrs. Harland P. Crossman, whose husband was known as "Hannah Page" Crossman.
