Cora Long Ethridge, 92, widow of Paul Exzannie Ethridge, died Saturday, June 2, 2018, at Tideland Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Ethridge was born in Andrews on June 15, 1925, a daughter of the late James Henry Long and Elizabeth Thomas Long.

She grew up in Andrews and attended Andrews Schools. Mrs. Ethridge was a member of Andrews First Baptist Church and served as a nursery worker for many years. She was a member of the Rosemary Chapter #195, Order of the Eastern Star and was recognized for being one of the oldest members.

Paul and Cora were married on March 25, 1943, and celebrated sixty-five years together.

Their home was blessed with two children, Janice E. Cantley and John Paul Ethridge, seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Surviving are: a son, John Paul Ethridge (Libby) of Kingstree; a daughter, Janice E. Cantley (David) of Andrews; a brother, Joe W. Long (Patricia) of Georgetown; and two sisters, Vonnie Marsh and Ethel L Ethridge (John) of Tallahassee. Florida.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Ethridge was predeceased by: a brother, James Henry Long, Jr.; seven sisters, Sally L. Smith, Ertis L. Stoutamire, Ada L. Brouorton, Vermie L. Bodiford, Annie Long and Joyce L. Casselman.

Her special caregivers were her children, Janice Cantley and John Paul Ethridge, who made her final years fun and safe.

Funeral Services will be eleven o’clock Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. Becky Tilton and Rev. Elmer Lambert. Burial will following in Andrews Memorial Cemetery.

The Family will receive friend prior to the service from ten until eleven in the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home.
