Shirley Kaye Williams Rose, 75, of Idaho Falls, passed away peacefully June 5, 2018, at MorningStar Senior Living Center, surrounded by her family.

Kaye was born February 22, 1943, in Preston, Idaho, to Melvin Carlyle Williams and Gwen Wright Williams. The family lived in Pocatello where she graduated from Pocatello High School. She also attended Idaho State University.

On April 27, 1962, she married David L. Rose in Pocatello, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Laie, Hawaii LDS Temple. Dave and Kaye have four children: Wendy, Darren, Chris, and Jen. While Dave was in the Navy they lived in various places including Hawaii; Provo, Utah; and Vallejo, California. In 1972, they moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho where they have since resided. Kaye was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and homemaker. She also was a dedicated volunteer for the Bonneville Humane Society.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings including Primary President and Relief Society President. Kaye had a great love for all animals and for the outdoors.

Kaye is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, David L. Rose of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Wendy Rose Poppleton of Salt Lake City, UT; son, Darren (Kim) Rose of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Chris (Kriste) Rose of Scottsdale, AZ; daughter, Jen (Chris) Marietta of Salt Lake City, UT; brother, Gordon (Mary Ann) Williams of Smithfield, UT; sister, Claire (Michael) Williams of Olympia, WA; and 7 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and favorite aunt, Norma Mayhall.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at the Idaho Falls LDS 31st Ward (1165 Azalea Drive). The family will visit with friends on Friday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge Ave.) and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in her memory at alz.org.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the Reflections staff who lovingly assisted Dave in taking great care of Kaye.
