Romy died peacefully at home in South San Francisco on June 4, 2018 at age 91. Born March 22, 1927 in San Carlos, Pangasinan, Philippines to Arcadio and Emerenciana Mercado.
Romy, 8th of nine siblings is survived by his remaining sister Ester Rico age 97 in Toronto, Canada. He joins his beloved wife Belinda deVeyra Austria who passed away last year June 18, 2017. He leaves behind four children. Eldest is Edna married to Atty Rodel Rodis with children Carlo, Daniel, and Eric. Second child is Sylvia married to Francisco Santos with children Philip and Nina married to Dr Adrian Dokey. Third is Victor, widower to Gina with children Gabrielle and Brian. Fourth is Ariel, with Stella & dog Butters.
Visitation on Sunday, June 17 3pm-9pm with Rosary Vigil at 4pm at Duggan's Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Ave, Daly City. Funeral Mass on Monday June 18 10:30 am at St Augustine Catholic Church, 3700 Callan Blvd, South San Francisco. Interment will follow at Holy Cross.
