Betty Jean (Selley) Anderson, age 92, of Logan, Utah, peacefully passed away at Terrace Grove on Wednesday, 30 May 2018.

Mother was born in Wellsville, Utah, on Sunday, 18 October 1925 to William "Bill" John and Elsie Ethel (Cooper) Leishman Selley. She grew up with loving parents, five brothers and two sisters, all of whom were great examples and wonderfully supportive to her throughout her life.

As a child, Mother worked hard hoeing, topping beets and hauling hay. She loved playing hopscotch, jacks and many other games. Mom caught the train in Wellsville to get to school each day. She attended Cache County schools and graduated from South Cache High School.

After graduation, Mother married Darrell W. Anderson in Nibley, Utah, on Friday, 9 July 1943. The couple began life together during World War II and Dad was drafted into the United States Coast Guard. After the birth of their first of three sons, Mother was able to join Dad in Alameda, California, where she was a rental manager of a large home that they shared with five other couples during the War.

When the War ended, Dad was discharged, honorably, in 1946 and the little family returned to Nibley, where they made their home, raised their sons and worked the family farm together.

Mother enjoyed reading, gardening, crocheting, and playing golf and Bridge. Betty loved traveling and had been many places around the world.

Career-wise, Betty had been a store manager for Gold Strike, in Logan, until it's closing. Mother also supported Dad in his endeavors to create our family's construction company in 1964, and helped in any way she could, working alongside him, just as she did on their farm.

Betty was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Primary and Young Women's organizations, chaired the old folks’ committee; and was a dance director with Dad. She loved dancing and teaching young adults how to dance for the Gold and Green Balls.

For more than thirty years, Betty and Darrell spent their winters in St. George, Utah, where they met many wonderful people!

Betty had been a member of the Logan Golf and Country Club Women’s Association, the Bloomington Golf and Country Club Women’s Association and the Elks Lodge. She enjoyed the people in each of the organizations and places she lived, and created many lifelong, dear friends. She was a friend to all and a great example of perseverance, hard work, dignity, and love. Family was always important to Betty; and she thrived when spending time with each family member.

Preceding Betty in death were her parents; husband, Darrell; their son, Darrell Larry Anderson; and her siblings, Woodrow, Leland, Paul, Calvin, and Junior Selley; and Vivian Bailey.

Left to cherish her memory are Betty's children, James B. (Linda J.) Anderson and Douglas B. (Linda O.) Anderson; daughter-in-law, Cozette P. Anderson; along with twelve grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, ArLee Tegan.

Betty's family sends special thanks to Stephanie and Nancy, of Terrace Grove and Hospice, for their loving kindness and consideration they gave our Mother.

Viewings were held from 6 to 8 P.M., Thursday, 7 June 2018 and from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M., Friday, 8 June at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street, Logan, where Funeral services began at 11 A.M., followed by Interment in the Millville-Nibley Cemetery, Millville, Utah.
