Sophie M. Cornils, age 84, of 1011 Margaretha St., Two Rivers, died early Sunday morning, June 3, 2018, at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay.

Sophie was born on May 16, 1934, in Hofa Park, a daughter of the late Vincent and Mary (Radecki) Palubicki. She graduated from Pulaski High School with the Class of 1953. On May 12, 1956, she married Leonard Cornils at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pulaski. Sophie was employed at Paragon before working at Hamilton's for many years prior to retiring in 1997. She enjoyed family, especially the many years they were able to enjoy at the cottage up north together. She was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church and St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, where she was also a member of the ladies groups of each church. Sophie loved to dance, especially the polka.

Survivors include her husband: Leonard Cornils of Two Rivers; two sons and daughters-in-law: Thomas and Terri Cornils and Kevin and Sharon Cornils, all of Two Rivers; two daughters and sons-in-law: Mary and Rick Peronto of Green Bay and Cheryl and Thomas Janssen of Cross Plains; six grandchildren: Stephanie (Aaron) Fischer, David Cornils and special friend, Katie Gamb, Vincent (Tiffany) Cornils, Mitchell Cornils and fiance', Erin Jacklyn, Tyler Janssen and special friend, Rachel, and Melinda Janssen; and two great grandsons: Ethan and Evan Fischer. She is further survived by a sister: Hattie Sewieck of Milwaukee, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two sisters: Johanna Rudzinski and Irene Rudzinski; one brother: Jack Palubicki; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: William and Martha Cornils and a sister-in-law: Lorraine (Robert) Garceau.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2018, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd., Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be The Rev. Tom Reynebeau with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. There will be no Wednesday evening visitation.

Memorials in Sophie's name may be made to the St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church Crucifix Fund or charity of the donors choice.
