Charles H. "Charlie" Corbett was the son of Andrew Napoleon "Andy" and Arta Leola "Artie" (Bowman) Corbett. During the course of his life, Charlie held numerous jobs...one of which was that of a conductor with the Indianapolis interurban railway. Additionally, Charlie was married twice...First, to a woman by the name of "Grace" whom he dearly loved, but who left him a widower (this information provided by his daughter, Barbara (Corbett-Drury) Taylor) and second to Aleen Walker. Charlie and Aleen were married on the 21st of October 1939 in Hendricks County, IN. Unfortunately, this union did not withstand the test of time and Charlie and Aleen divorced.

Charlie had no children with Grace, but was the father of two children with Aleen Walker...Charles Howard Corbett Jr and Barbara Jean (later changed to Joan) Corbett. Following their divorce, Aleen remarried to a man by the name of Charles Albert Drury, who owned and operated Drury's Grocery in Indianapolis. Aleen and Charles Drury hired an attorney, who subsequently assisted in terminating biological father Charlie Corbett's parental rights....and changed the children's surname from "Corbett" to "Drury". Although his children still saw him occasionally, Charlie did not have the kind of relationship with them that he deserved. Contesting the adoption was next to impossible, because Mr. Corbett was of limited financial means and could not afford his own legal representation.

Charlie Corbett died on the 12th of March 1959, from bronchitis (which was a byproduct of his chronic emphysema... due to years of cigarette smoking).
