Glen Arthur Buckingham, 73, of 2149 Osage Ave., died at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, at Jefferson County Hospital.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Raymond Funeral Home, with the Rev. Diane Brokken officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Bethesda Cemetery east of Fairfield.

Family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials can be made to Alzheimer's Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice.

Mr. Buckingham was born April 14, 1931, in Fairfield, the son of Joe and Laura Fritz Buckingham. He married Anna Denz April 11, 1954, in Burlington.

After graduating from Fairfield High School, he served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a farmer and was employed by Ferrellgas and Wal-Mart.

He was a member of Bethesda Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; five children, Karen Mashek and husband Steve of New Hampton, Ronald Buckingham of Mount Pleasant, Bruce Buckingham of Mount Pleasant, Roger Buckingham and wife Deb of Brighton and Janice Shaw and husband David of Richland; eight grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 10 sisters, Lois Shook of Sun City, Ariz., Aletha Hay of West Burlington, Ruth Hoyt of Ottumwa, Helen Neff of San Diego, Calif., Della Taylor, Carol Nelson, and Bernice Ogden, all of Fairfield, Edith Gauby of Nampa, Idaho, Christine Boyenga of Merced, Calif., and Doris Epperson of Saint Frances, Kan.; and one brother, Frank Buckingham of Nexa, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
