Kenneth Jerrell Welch, Sr., age 87, well known Jackson businessman passed away Friday, October 28, 2016 at the Spalding Regional Hospital following a period of declining health. He was born in Texas November 25, 1928 son of the late Samuel Aaron Welch and Jeffrey Balch Welch. He was married to Mildred McMichael Welch for the past 66 years.

Kenneth was the owner and operator of Towaliga Wood from 1972 to 2006. He was also owner of the B&C Farm Supply for ten years. Kenneth loved the outdoors and loved to tell old stories. He and his wife were hosts at several Georgia State Park Campgrounds for several years until recently. He was a member and Deacon at the First Baptist Church in Jackson where he taught Sunday School in the Pre-School and Youth Department He was a former member of the Jackson Kiwanis Club. He was a member of the St. John's Lodge # 45 of Free and Accepted Masons in Jackson.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred McMichael Welch, daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Stewart Cawthon, sons, Jarrell and Karen Welch, Bruce Welch, Kirk and Tina Welch, grandchildren, Chelbie Sinclair, Chance Daniel, Taft and Stephanie Daniel, Kayle and Hailab Habtom, Andrea Welch, Stephanie Hawkins, Rachel and George Campbell and Eric Welch; ten great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and his faithful companion, Bandit.
