PFC Ray Palmer Fairchild was born, November 2, 1929 in the Mash Fork Community of Magoffin County, Kentucky to the late, John H. and Allie Prater Fairchild and was the brother of the late Bonnie Fairchild Cantrell.
Ray is survived by one brother, John E. Fairchild of Portsmouth, Ohio.
Ray was a member of the Salyersville First Baptist Church and is memorialized on the Courts of the Missing at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.
Military Rites and Services honoring Private First Class Ray Palmer Fairchild will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 23, 2019 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel with Brett Unger officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairchild Family Cemetery at Mash Fork in Magoffin County, Kentucky.

Gravesite Details
There is a memorial cenotaph placed in honor of Mr. Fairchild, whose body was unaccounted for after the Korean War. It was the wish of his mother that a veterans memorial marker be placed in their family cemetery in honor of her son Ray.
